Website Care Plans

You focus on your business. We’ll take care of your website.

What's website care?

Websites are built a framework of code. As time goes on, that code gets updated. Usually it’s down to a security breach, but sometimes it’s because there’s new features being added, or things need to be updated to stay relevant.

That means, your website needs to be updated as well – because if you don’t, you’re generally leaving yourself vulnerable to hackers.

A care plan takes care of this, and goes into heaps more too – yes you get the peace of mind of having your website code stay up to date, but we also include things like backups, security monitoring, various levels of protection and monitoring, and – most importantly – support.

Each of our care plans include an allowance for support tasks – that means if you want to update some content, or make some small changes to your site, we do it for you so you don’t have to learn how to manage a website.

You run your business, and we’ll take care of your website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions people have asked us before about our care plans.

Firstly, the updates that happen by the host are almost always automated. There is zero consideration of your site plugins and themes, or whether the update could break anything. Plus, if something does break – you’re on your own.

Secondly, a care plan includes a whole lot more than some updates. Things like daily backups, security scanning, uptime monitoring, reporting – this goes way beyond automated updates.

And of course, being on a care plan means you have access to get help when you need it.

We do include managed website hosting for all of our care plan clients on one of our servers (17 global locations available).

However, should they wish to manage their own hosting, we generally recommend either Conetix (Australian) or Kinsta (American/Global) as quality alternatives.

As long as the malware wasn’t there when you signed up, no. If you have malware when signing up, we will need to quote for removal.

Content edits include small things you’d like to do like adding a new blog post (but not writing them), changing some images (but not finding them), updating some of the content on a page (but not writing it). Basically all the general stuff you’d do as part of having a website. Usually they’re tasks that take us up to 30 minutes or so to process.

On the basic and pro maintenance plans, we don’t offer any content edits. On the performance plan you get unlimited requests (1 request a day).

It’s very much a “use it or lose it” situation. We allocate the time for you, it’s up to you if you use it or not.

For website owners that want or need to make regular changes and updates, but don’t really want to have to handle it themselves, that’s where the webmaster comes in. It includes unlimited content edits, as well as the ultimate in security and performance management. This is where we partner with you to handle your website.

Yes, but there will be a minimum $250 charge per request and you don’t receive priority care (which is reserved for care plan clients).

We’re the ones doing it, we have a pretty decent idea of how long things generally take. And realistically, if you’re paying us to do all your small changes, you probably don’t know how long some of the more complicated stuff would take. So while I hate to pull rank, this is our area of expertise and we get the final say.

We ensure your site is completely optimised, give you access to a premium speed optimisation plugin, and optimise your images each month.

It’s a content delivery network that uses super speedy computers around the world to store chunks of your site. Then, when a local visitor requests to visit your site, they get files served from the computers closest to them. It can usually make things load faster when you have a widely located audience.

FOREVER.

Just kidding!

We don’t lock people into anything. Any ongoing contract of ours is month by month. Our jobs are to make sure you’re getting a service that’s worth the investment you’re making into it.

If you decide you hate our faces and want to terminate, just give us 30 days notice so we can wind things up properly.

We don’t discount, so if you have a service that is more within your budget that you’re happy with, we strongly recommend using them.

There’s a few things we need to get sorted before doing something like this.

Firstly, if we built your website fairly recently, then it’s all fine. We do a quick review and then onboard you onto our systems.

If we didn’t build your site, or it wasn’t something we did recently, we need to first do an in-depth review of your existing site to make sure there’s nothing there that could come back to bite us later. If your site does have some major issues or flaws, then we would need to get those issues fixed first.

We do charge for this review and any subsequent fixing required. The charge for the review can vary from $99 through to $250, depending on the type of site. The charge for fixing any issues really depends on the issues.

We will not take on a site that has major flaws and issues.
